We regularly work with the main ecological and governmental organisations throughout the UK including: Scottish Natural Heritage, The Scottish Executive, The Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts, Highland Council Ranger Service.

We also work with developers, planners, architects and landowners providing consultation, surveys, training and advice.

We understand the need for clear, concise, accurate and timely information and are used to working with developers, architects, planners and contractors to ensure deadlines are met and projects are not compromised.

We offer competitive rates, can work to budget and all our profits fund wildlife conservation projects.

Otter Survey and Assessment

We work using current accepted survey methodologies to establish the presence/absence of otters on waterways and coastal areas and provide information on their distribution. We undertake surveys for a wide variety of development, conservation and research schemes.

EIA, BREEAM and LEED

Comprehensive impact assessment is fundamental to the design of a successful mitigation strategy. We can provide impact assessments for otters that range from concise reports for small scale planning applications through to the entire ecology section of an expansive EIA for large scale projects.

We are also familiar BREEAM and LEED certifications and can help developers with all aspects of the biodiversity criteria.

Otter Mitigation

Otter mitigation strategies are generally licensed and must therefore be designed and implemented to exacting standards. Development programmes can be seriously affected if mitigation work is not carried out in accordance with licence conditions and at an appropriate time of year.

Should a licence be required for any proposed work we can advise on the application and if necessary submit this on behalf of the client.

Whilst we specialise in otters we are qualified and can conduct surveys of many other species such as badgers, water voles, bats, and birds.
